Conceptualized in 2018 and brought to life in 2020, BIÂN emerged from a deep appreciation for what it truly means to live a vital, meaningful life. Their collective intention was clear: to create a singular space where wellness, hospitality, luxury, community, medicine, and personal growth could coexist in seamless harmony. The result is a first-of-its-kind ecosystem designed to support members in becoming the most empowered, nourished, and connected versions of themselves. As one of BIÂN’s founders, Joseph Fisher is a dedicated wellness enthusiast and entrepreneur driven by a deep passion for empowering others through intentional health practices. Joe envisioned BIÂN as a sanctuary where community and integrated support guide members on their personal wellness journeys. His own path was shaped by a transformative experience with holistic medicine after a frustrating wrist injury, which led him to a healer who approached his health with a whole-body perspective. This experience fundamentally changed his understanding of wellness—shifting how he eats, moves, and lives. With a background in law and business, Joe found true fulfillment not in financial success, but in reimagining how individuals experience healing. BIÂN is more than a business for Joe—it is a legacy for his children, grounded in vitality, community, and a love for life.

A co-founder of BIÂN and James Beard Award-winning restaurateur, Kevin Boehm brings three decades of hospitality vision to his leadership. With over 40 restaurants opened across the country, Kevin saw BIÂN as a natural extension of his lifelong dedication to wellness. His journey began in Springfield, Illinois, and after leaving college to pursue on-the-ground experience, he launched his first restaurant in Seaside, Florida, at age 23. In 2002, he partnered with Rob Katz to create Boka Restaurant Group, now home to 36 award-winning restaurants and 18 James Beard nominations. Kevin and Rob were named Best Restaurateurs in America in 2019 by the James Beard Foundation. His writing has appeared in Esquire, Fast Company, and The Chicago Sun Times, and his debut book, The Bottomless Cup, will be released in 2025. Kevin also serves on boards including the Illinois Restaurant Association, Open Table, and 826 CHI.

Mar Soraparu is a visionary leader, entrepreneur, and trailblazer in wellness, Executive Coaching, and leadership. As Co-Founder and Chief Wellness Officer of BIÂN, she has pioneered the groundbreaking 35,000-square-foot ecosystem that unites luxury, medicine, wellness, hospitality, longevity, and personal development under one roof. An orchestrator of both vision and execution, Mar shapes both the external member experience and the internal systems that drive growth, while directing and inspiring the senior team across disciplines. Her ability to unify vision with execution ensures a seamless member journey and positions BIÂN at the forefront of wellness, longevity, and luxury. Featured in Forbes, Business Insider, and Vogue, Mar is also a sought-after executive coach. With a UCLA degree in Sociology and multiple certifications, she empowers leaders and changemakers to redefine what it means to live and lead well.

Dr. Angelo Costas is Chief Medical Officer at BIÂN and one of Chicago’s leading internal medicine physicians. He serves as Chief Internist for the Chicago Blackhawks and is a pioneer in concierge medicine, known for championing personalized and accessible care. Dr. Costas leads BIÂN’s Medical Advisory Board and works closely with fitness and wellness teams to ensure coordinated, interdisciplinary care. He is President of the Northwestern Health Care Corporation, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School, and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. While he provides leadership across the BIÂN Medical ecosystem, he is not currently accepting new patients.

She brings to BIÂN a passion for holistic medicine with a focus on women’s health, pelvic floor, athletic injuries and functional rehab. In previous roles she has led a team of multidisciplinary practitioners, launched corporate wellness programs, and maintained a patient base of her own. -

An accomplished and dynamic operations executive, Deana has over a decade of experience driving excellence and growth across luxury social clubs, restaurants, start-ups, and experiential venues. Dr. Marcie is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with training from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and residency at Tufts Medical Center. She previously served as an internist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Tufts Medical Center. At BIÂN, she plays a key role in developing BIÂN’s concierge medical practice and member education programs. -

Director of East Asian Medicine
Licensed in both California and Illinois, Dr. Subotich brings expertise in autoimmune care, pain management, and emotional wellness, supported by her DAOM from Five Branches University. Her training includes advanced acupuncture, herbal medicine, and energetic healing under Taoist lineage. -
