How To: Go to a Studio Class When You Don’t Feel Ready

At BIÂN, our Studio and Fitness programming is led by the industry’s best professionals who are here to help you feel strong, confident, and supported—no matter where you are in your journey. Feeling unsure about joining a class? That’s normal. Here are some strategies to help you take that first step, because at BIÂN, we are ready for you.

1. Communicate

Let the instructor know you’re just starting out, trying a new format, or jumping back into a routine. Our team is experienced in working with individuals of all levels and will ensure you feel comfortable and supported, regardless of the class style. Whether it’s your first time or you’re returning after a break, they’re here to guide you and make adjustments to suit your needs. You are welcome here.

2. Embrace Discomfort

Feeling uncomfortable when trying something new is part of the process. Growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones, and that’s especially true in fitness or meditation. Instead of fearing discomfort, try to embrace it as a sign that you’re on the right path.

3. Start with Private Sessions or Personal Training

If group classes feel overwhelming, consider booking a private session or beginning personal training. One-on-one guidance can help you build confidence, refine technique, and prepare for studio classes. We offer private yoga, Mat Pilates, Breathwork, Meditation, Reformer Pilates and more. Our expert trainers are also here to provide tailored support that meets your unique goals and needs.

Taking the first step is always the hardest, but at BIÂN, you’ll never have to do it alone and we have specifically designed to have a team that is ready for you. Our team is here to ensure your journey is empowering and enjoyable, every step of the way.
