Supporting Every Stage of the Perinatal Journey

Pregnancy is one of the most physically and emotionally transformative seasons of a person's life. And yet, finding truly integrated support during that time can feel surprisingly difficult. Most people piece together care from providers who don't communicate with one another, leaving gaps precisely when consistency matters most.

BIÂN was built differently. Our in-house network of perinatal specialists works collaboratively, sharing insights (with your consent) to ensure that your care is cohesive at every stage. Whether you're navigating fertility treatments, moving through your third trimester, or working through postpartum recovery, there is a team here that knows your full picture.

Here's a closer look at the categories of perinatal support available to BIÂN members, and the expert practitioners behind each one.

Pelvic Health & Physical Therapy

The pelvic floor is involved in nearly every aspect of how the body functions during and after pregnancy, yet it is one of the most consistently overlooked areas of women's healthcare. Pelvic health physical therapy addresses this gap directly, helping people manage pain, rebuild strength, and heal with intention rather than guesswork.

At BIÂN, pelvic health services are led by Dr. Angela Bleecher, a Doctor of Physical Therapy with specialized training in orthopedic, sports medicine, and pelvic health rehabilitation. Angela takes a whole-body approach to care, working with members on everything from prenatal back and hip pain to postpartum diastasis recti, incontinence, and safe return to exercise.

With nearly two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Bleecher earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Evansville, where she also competed as a Division I soccer player. She is a certified manual physical therapist and holds certification in trigger point dry needling. Her clinical focus includes orthopedic conditions, sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, and the full spectrum of women's health and pelvic floor concerns. Angela believes in treating the whole person and is passionate about helping patients restore function, reduce pain, and return to the activities they love through personalized, evidence-based care.

"I take a whole-body approach to help you stay connected to your body, to help you heal, and to guide you in safely returning to exercise and daily activities."

Pelvic health services at BIÂN cover birth preparation, prenatal and postpartum physical therapy, treatment for back and hip pain, diastasis recti rehabilitation, pelvic floor dysfunction, and incontinence care. Sessions are personalized to where you are in your journey and designed to evolve alongside you.

Some pelvic health services are open to the public and may be covered by insurance. Contact medical@livebian.com to learn more about access and coverage options.

Perinatal Movement & Corrective Exercise

Movement during pregnancy is not just safe for most people; it is often deeply beneficial. The key is knowing how to move well, which muscles to prioritize, which patterns to avoid, and how to adapt as the body changes week by week. This is precisely where working with a trained perinatal movement specialist makes all the difference.

Joanna Mavros brings nearly two decades of fitness and movement experience to her work with perinatal clients at BIÂN. As a Certified Perinatal Corrective Exercise Specialist, she designs individualized sessions for members navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and fertility treatments, with a focus on education, body awareness, and sustainable strength.

Her work emphasizes building skills, resilience, and confidence in the body throughout every phase of the perinatal experience.

"Joanna believes in educating and empowering women to understand and feel strong in their bodies at every stage of life, providing the tools that help women live well and move with confidence."

Sessions with Joanna may address pelvic floor awareness, diastasis recti, functional breathing, prenatal strength and mobility, and postpartum return to movement. As clients progress, her work can transition into one-on-one personal training, Pilates, or yoga, based on individual goals. She also offers semi-private Pilates Reformer classes and warmly welcomes members of the perinatal community to join.

Prenatal Yoga & Birth Preparation

Birth preparation is about far more than logistics. It is about learning to trust your body, connect with your breath, and feel genuinely held as you approach one of the most significant experiences of your life. At BIÂN, this work is offered through a richly integrated approach that weaves together prenatal yoga, somatic movement, and compassionate doula support.

Our prenatal yoga and doula specialist brings over a decade of teaching experience and six years of birth doula work to her practice at BIÂN, having supported more than 40 births. Her classes and private sessions are intentionally kept small, allowing for personalized guidance, meaningful connection, and real space to prepare, both physically and emotionally, for birth.

Her approach blends movement, education, and compassionate support to help individuals feel informed, grounded, and empowered through every step of the journey.

"I am deeply passionate about creating space for connection, to your body, your breath, and your intuition, so you can move through pregnancy, birth, and beyond with confidence and trust."

The "Prenatal Movement and Birth Preparation" class series at BIÂN weaves together prenatal yoga, pelvic floor and deep core work, functional movement, breathwork, and meditation alongside intentional conversation about preparing for birth. Private one-on-one sessions are also available for those looking for a more customized experience.

Care That Connects

What makes BIÂN genuinely different is not any single service, but the way those services work together. With your consent, our providers communicate across disciplines to ensure that your physical therapist, your movement coach, and your yoga instructor are all working from the same understanding of where you are and where you are headed.

This coordinated model means that care does not fall through the cracks between appointments. It means that when something shifts, your whole team knows. And it means that you are never left to translate your own experience from one provider to the next.

For members navigating the perinatal journey, that kind of continuity is not a luxury. It is the foundation of truly effective care.
