Dr. Ben Schuff
Dr. Ben Schuff is a licensed naturopathic doctor (ND), Illinois Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN), a Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS) and a Licensed Acupuncturist. Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he earned his Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology from the University of Dayton, Ohio before completing his medical education at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon. He has also been trained in a system of medicine called Endobiogeny.
Dr. Schuff’s interest in health has its foundations in a curiosity of living systems and the complexity of the human condition. Prior to medical school, he developed experience working as an EMT and serving a number of volunteer positions within community health clinics and hospitals in Ohio. Those experiences in the world of healthcare across specialties and departments revealed to him that there was an uninspiring standardization, and a repetitive and dehumanizing quality to how the system of medicine related to people. Dr. Schuff witnessed the reduction of whole people to just their symptomatic parts. This disillusionment with the conventional world of medicine allowed Dr. Schuff to be open to approaches to health which were holistic and flexible—to his delight, the long tradition of Naturopathic medicine was based on principles of wholeness. The education he received at Naturopathic schooling included the full coursework that any other doctor would receive, the difference being our philosophy of interventions. Our good health is the resource for living a meaningful life and it starts with working with Dr. Schuff one-on-one.
